Remember, remember always
Those that for you fought,
Keep inside your heart
The freedom that they sought.
And look into the eyes
Of veterans young and old,
Hear their tales, their stories
The memories that they hold.
For if you forget to thank them
Those memories they will die,
The poppies laying withered
The sun not in the sky.
And respect the flag-draped coffins
Of those coming home from war,
Who fought for friends, for family
Won't see them any more.
A moment so keep silent
When elevens all align,
For all those who fought, who died for you
So that you may live sublime.
Now that Remembrance Day is upon us, do not forget the past. Do not forget those who fought for our freedom in the ultimate equivalent exchange.
Lest we forget.
