Since the end of the Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood anime in 2010, and even earlier, the fans have been asking the obvious question: When will a live action film be made, based on this epic story?
Being a film producer myself and having become a huge fan of the story during the past several years, I asked myself the same question.
In my opinion, FMA is at least as good as the Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings stories. In its own way, it tells a unique and timeless tale of good vs. evil, redemption and the human condition.
Its characters and over-all plot are entertaining, action-packed and dramatic. Edward and Alphonse Elric are truly inspiring heroes. Since the end of the second anime series "Brotherhood," two "spin-off" animated films have been …Read more >
So, ever since Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood first came to DVD in America, I've been waiting for the boxset releases that would certainly follow. Complete Collection I was announced and I jumped at the chance to buy it, especially since it would be released just before the Anime Central Convention, so I could just buy it there. When I got to the con, no one was selling it for less than $60 and I hesitated because I knew I'd be able to find it cheaper elsewhere, but still, I couldn't let go of my desire to walk away from the convention with that boxset in my possession.
On the last day, I haggled desperately with a vendor who let me have it for ten dollars less and left the con all pleased with myself...until I started admiring my purchas…Read more >
All right, for those who have been following my talk page, we were contacted a little over twenty-four hours ago by a representative of FUNimation Entertainment and told that FUNimation has taken interest in our site and would like to offers us support in the way of information, high-quality images and links to official videos. It seems clear to me that they want our help in generating buzz for the upcoming DVD releases of Sacred Star of Milos, Brotherhood Complete Collection 1 and the OVA/Comic Theater bundle, but, really, I don't have a problem with that. I contacted FUNimation's representative Tara McKinney yesterday thanking her for interest in our site and stating that, while we're happy with the way we've been running things on our o…Read more >
If, indeed, a page for general theory discussion is something people want, it should be a blog, I think. We'll try it this way. If you have a theory, this will be the place to post it and have responses given, for now.
Full Metal Fan had this theory to put forward:
"I had this theory on the Philosopher's Stone talk page, and this was the article that gave me the idea for this page. Anyway, here it is:
I have a theory that I want to add to the page, but first I want some people's opinions on it. My theory (for the manga and Brotherhood only) is that the Philosopher's Stone becomes more like a liquid and less like a stone the more souls are used in it, eventually becoming a blood-like substance. I think this for a few reasons.
First, Kimblee's o…Read more >
All right, I've thought long and hard about this and now I've decided. Please try to refrain from posting major spoilers from brand new chapters until the fresh chapter's scanlation is available to the general public at either onemanga.com, mangafox.com, mangastream.com or mangareader.com.
I know we deal in information here and it can be argued that people shouldn't come to a wikia if they aren't prepared to be spoiled, but in the case of new chapters, some people keeping up with the Japanese releases of he manga may not yet be aware of a new chapter's existence when they come to the site. If you find a scanlated chapter available at one of those four sites (or another readily available non-download site), please add the information to the …Read more >
