Yo! I'm Lin Yao! I'm new to this Wiki, but I work on other Wiki's, so I'm fairly competent with this kind of stuff. (I'm no expert though!) I got a lot of informative data from this Wiki, so I reckon now I need to give back.
What inspired me to watch and read FMA, FMA 2003, and FMA Brotherhood was actually the concept of a realistic, (excluding alchemy) militaristic world. And then the incorporation of a rebooted and awesomised version of alchemy, (courtesy of Hiromu, the author) made it seem that much more mythical, but at the same time, holding realistic principles in life, making it 10 times better.
I must admit, the original plot was the version I liked better, but I still loved the 2003 Anime! And although it didn't make me feel "those are amazing concepts", I loved the dark concept of the Homunculi being basically the undead revived through science. But I have to admit, in the end, Conquerer of Shamballa, dismal disappointment. Not only did he lose alchemy, but somehow Edward was satisfied with the notion of going to a foreign world which could fix itself, to start an entirely new life with his brother, when he could've stayed home, happily ever after.
The manga and Brotherhood were amazing. That's all I can say.
