The Fullmetal Alchemist world has aspects of technology similar of in the begin of 1900s in our world, while others are more advanced than current 21st century technology. There are trains, firearms, telephone, and most everyday devices that would be expected. The most promiment, if not only, technology more advanced in Fullmetal Alchemist than that available in 21st century Earth is their prosthetic technology, namely their use of Automail in that field.
