Is this series in mixed time between post modern and modern? Because they didn't have color pictures, tube tops (Winry occasionally wears one), girls didn't wear shorts (or trousers for that matter) or any of the clothes we wear, nor did they have alot of electrical apliances. I'm getting confused because of this and Ed and Al's age when their mother passed away. Can anyone tell me is this series in mixed modern and post modern?

It's definitely a sort of steampunk that mixes elements from the turn of the 20th century with things that happened later on. Technology and science seem to be left in 1914, when this series takes place, but racial and sexual stigmas don't exist as strongly in Amestris as they did in our world back then. Fashion, as you stated, is somewhat more liberated as well. There's a lot of traditional garb, but when Riza and Becky go out that one time, they're definitely wearing 1980s style clothes. Not entirely sure what you mean by "post-modern" here, but that's how it is. CorbeauKarasu 15:02, March 20, 2010 (UTC)

'Post modern' means beyond either 1880 something or beyond be 19 something and that is what I'm trying to say. Sorry if u got confused.

Rewriting sections needed[]

Right now this page is out of date since it mostly covers everything except for the 2009 anime. While I fixed some of it as best I could, more work is still going to be needed to bring the details up to date with the second anime material. -Adv193 05:00, December 13, 2010 (UTC)
