Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (titled 鋼の錬金術師 背中を託せし者 [Fullmetal Alchemist: Senaka o Takuseshimono] in Japan) is an action-fighting game for the PSP, which was released in Japan and the EU. In the EU version the voices are in Japanese, but the text can be changed to different languages such as German and French. The game loosely follows the story of the Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood series up until around episode 29.

Gameplay Edit

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is a third-person fighting game in which the aim is to reduce the opponent's health to zero. Players control one of fifteen playable characters to defeat one or two other characters, sometimes with the help of a supporting partner.

Every character has a unique moveset consisting of normal attacks and powerful attacks, which can be used together to perform combos. Each character can also use special attacks, which are stronger than standard attacks but are slow to perform.

If there are two characters fighting together, they will earn Bond Points as the fight progresses. Bond points can be used to perform combination attacks, where both team members come together and unleash powerful attacks on one target. Alternatively, Bond Points can be used to revive a partner character whose HP has been reduced to zero.

Each completed fight earns experience points for both the player's character and the accompanying partner character. When enough EXP points are gained, the characters level up and earn Stat Points. These allow the player to upgrade characters and increase their attack, defence, special, and speed powers (the maximum power for all of these stats is 5/5).

As well as this, Bond Points are earned after each fight. Two characters who fight together often will increase their bond level to a maximum of 5. Pairs of characters with a high bond level will strike a pose together before performing combination attacks. The combination attacks themselves will get stronger when the characters have a high Bond Level.

Customisation Edit

As each character levels up, the player will unlock various outfits for them. These can range from different outfits which were worn by the character in the anime to recolours of existing outfits or entirely new costumes.

Additionally, each character has different voice sets which can be unlocked by levelling up. The voice sets contain a mixture of different phrases and sounds which the character makes in battle.
